Last week, I went to my favorite barber shop for a cut.
Tyler and Baker Barber Shop on 18th and Ali.
My barber, Joe, has cut my hair for over 15 years, and I have been a customer of Tyler and Baker's since back in the day when Mr. Tyler and Mr. Baker ran the shop.
The difference this time was that I now have a beard and I asked Joe to trim it for me...
… for the first time.
As he started to lean the chair back, I muttered "whoa!" and my brother Wayne, who was sitting across from me, tried to unsuccessfully muffle a giggle...you see, I have never experienced the sensation of sitting back in a barber chair in my 58 years on this earth.
It kinda startled me, (ahem )
When I told Joe, he laughed . He asked if I was comfortable, and continued trimming.
It is strange how something as simple as being tilted back in a barber chair can be such a new experience, huh?
