I read last week that Sears is closing 43 stores across America, and one in our area.
I remember when Sears was a giant in the merchandise business. I ordered many of my household items through catalogue sales with them.
I also remember that there once was a a Sears in downtown Louisville, around 8th and Broadway.
Back in 1980, when my son Lil Greg was born, me and my wife at the time, Lynn took him to get his first portrait. in the Sears Photo Studio
...well that is , Lynn stood in line and took care of the photo...I found the TV department and watched U of L take on LSU in a NCAA tournament game.
Good times...good times... (ahem).
I guess with malls and on line shopping, Sears ran the good fight, but just ran out of gas.
