I remember in 1991 when my youngest son Quantez was 6 years old, I saw something that took me back.
There he was, standing in a chair over the stove...making a grilled cheese sandwich...
Six years old...
I was reminded of this while I watched a show on Food Network called "Kids BBQ Championship."
That's right...kids bar-be-quing for $10,000.
At first it kinda freaked me out to see young kids fooling around a grill and using chef's knives to slice up their tomatoes...but as I watched, I discovered these kids could really cook!
Times they are a changing and so do kid's skills.
There is also" Master Chef Jr"...'"Chopped Jr", and several other shows that feature young 'uns being a whiz in the kitchen.
When I was 6, my best cooking creation was a spoon of mayo on bread...
