One Of The True Founders Of Rock And Roll...

When Chuck Berry, age 90, died last Saturday, It got me to thinking about how important he was to rock and roll.
One of the founders?  Well, yes, with he other two being  Fats Domino and Little Richard, in my opinion...
Chuck burst on the scene with 'Maybelline" and over the Fifties and Sixties gave us such memorable tunes as "Sweet Little Sixteen", "Roll Over Beethoven", "Brown-Eyed Handsome Man", "School Days", "Johnny B. Goode", among others, and my favorite, "Little Queenie."
His playful style, his infamous "duck walk"...the white shoes and tuxes and that fantastic Gibson guitar.
Another thing that I have to say is that Chuck Berry was a great writer of lyrics. Folk tend to forget about that.
"Working in the filling station, too many tasks, wash the windows, check the tires,  check the oil ...a dollar gas?..  Too much monkey business for me..."
  Classic, right?
