Last week I talked about the great music of the 50s, -80s. I have been listening more intensely to an artist who had his biggest hits in the 1950's and also a big hit in the late 70s...Chuck Berry.
Mr. Berry is still with us (along with Fats Domino) and his album, "The Great Twenty-eight", is a testament to his...greatness, for want of a better word.
The hits include, "School Days", "Johnny Be Goode", "Brown-Eyed Handsome Man" , and his first hit, "Maybelline." "I wish his late hit, "My Ding-a-ling " was on here but it isn't...
The album also includes songs like "Nadine", which is the first Chuck Berry song I heard when I was around 6 years old, and my all-time favorite Chuck song, "Little Queenie."
Some of the lyric..."I got lumps in my throat when I saw her walking down the aisle...I got the wiggle in my knees when she looked at me and sweetly smiled..."
Classic Chuck Berry.
If you don't own this record, I advise you to give it a listen. It will change how you look at life...
