I was reading the Courier-Journal newspaper last Friday and I ran across a story about the Ky. State fair board hiring a few new workers.
I thought that was great news for the economy.
I noticed that starting wages would be $7.25 to $8.00 per hour...minimum wage.
When I started working in 1977, minimum wage was around $1.80 an hour...in 37 years it has gone up $5.45.
Ouch!
I wrote a Letter To The Editor stating that we should raise the minimum wage.
Quickly.
They printed it on Saturday morning.
