My mother, Marsha Louise Hayden Huffman passed away on this day in 1968.
Though I was only 8 years old I remember it like it was yesterday...
Daddy took us kids to my Aunt Dorothy's house the night before and they took Mama to the hospital. The next night while we were watching "The Ed Sullivan Show"...while Stevie Wonder was singing "For Once In My Life"...They came in the door and Daddy asked me and Wayne and Tenita and Billy and Rodney aged 8,7,6,5,and 2, to go to the basement.
As he sit there with tears rolling down his face, I said "Mama's dead, ain't she?"
He looked at us and hugged us all at the same time...
Mama we miss you...and always will.
