One of my favorite uncles passed away yesterday and let me just say he was special to my heart.
His given name was George Edward, but as children we always called him "Uncle Ebut" and it stuck.
When his sister and my mother died in 1968, he was always there for us and when I needed a place to stay when I was 16, his door was always open.
He was a special guy...a little James Brown...a little Ray Charles and he was a good man and I will miss him.
RIP Uncle Ebut and please, hug Mama and Daddy for us...
